Table of Contents

Not really a table of contents, but just a big list and short summary of each piece on here.

Bike – Wrote this back in the 8th grade. Some sappy short-story about a kid and a bike?

No Big Deal – Little kids can be mean sometimes. Over-exaggeration at its best people. At. Its. Best. Another 9th grade masterpiece.

Tsunami ‘04 – I wrote this when I was reminded once more how fortunate I am and how grateful I should be.

Merry Christmas ‘05 – A short piece in celebration of Christmas.

Wings – Maturing through the eyes of a baby-bird.

Promise, Close Your Eyes – A short little love-story I wrote a while back. I wrote this when listening to the song “禁果花” by Sammi Cheng (鄭秀文).

A Child’s Playground – An assignment where we had to describe an object or action as if we’ve never seen/done it before, and I chose a playground. Don’t worry, its meant to confuse you.

Regret – A short story that spun off of a small memory in my childhood.

To Watch Over Them – A short story that is split into two parts. This was an assignment that required us to write a short-story based on a picture we were given — and mine was with a man teaching his daughter how to walk in a hallway.

家姐 (Sister) – A short story based on a younger sister’s remorse for her previous wrongs.

The Blood of Coal – A rather long short-story that I wrote after reading an article about the terrible working conditions in the coal mines of China in Time Magazine titled ‘Where The Coal Is Stained With Blood’ by Simon Elegant / Zhangjiachang. It’s about a boy whose biological father works in his adoptive father’s coal mine. Related news article: 181 Chinese miners trapped by flooding.

Chaos – Not much of a storyline, but its supposed to be a glimpse or snippet of the world in the future. I wrote it in like an hour, so excuse the lack of…well, everything.

Sleeping Beauty – My spin on a well-known fairytale, I’m sorry if this has already been done before.

Ghost – A short story I had started back in high school but never finished. I’m in the process of re-writing a large portion of it. Here’s hoping I’ll finish it this time around.

Love Letter – Its confusing, I know. Whoops.
